72 Hour Kits: CHECK

We've talked about doing our 72 hour kits for almost 4 years now. I know, it takes us awhile to get thing accomplished:) There's definitely something about expecting a child that changes your outlook... that and experiencing a minor earthquake! Nothing like a little motivation! Anyway we had a long weekend so we decided to get our butts in gear. We finally got our 72 hour food kits as well as flashlights, matches, poncho's, emergencey blankets, and other listed items all ready. Whew! What a relief that is. We've only been told by the Prophets to have those prepared for what generations now. Better now than never, I guess. No really it feels so good to have them done. It's something that really has weighed heavily on our minds. We want to be prepared. Now we're going to start on our ever so intimidating food storage... Wish us luck:)

GROSS!!!! Seth made me post this!

So I've totally put off posting this because well it grosses me out. Seth keeps asking "why isn't my stitches on the blog?" I kept making excuses until he cornered me today and told me to go post them. I finally said "No honey, it's so gross".... however he insisted, so here it is.

Seth had minor surgery to remove a fatty lipoma from his forearm and 2 suspicious looking freckles off his shoulders. We both thought it was going to be in and out, no big deal. However it took about an hour and they dug DOWN on all three area's. He's pretty sore. The funniest part is he can't play racquetball and he's going through withdrawals (he managed to play right after the surgery because the anesthetics hadn't worn off yet)... Flynt is having time to practice so Seth will be in trouble when he gets back into the game:) Anyway, he's okay but a little sore. Seth also had an x-ray done of his left foot that has always had a big bump on the top (it hurts if he ties his shoes too tight). Turns out, he fractured it back in the day and never took care of it... Genius! I know! So now it's too late and he'll just have to live with not so tight shoes. Silly boy.

My last day with the Kiddos:(

Today is my last day watching the kiddos! I can hardly believe it. They are so much of my day, it's just become natural. I've watched Ebby for two years and Marius for 6 months. Ebby was just a year old when she first came and Marius was two months. I was looking through old pictures and I can't believe how much Ebby has blossomed right in front of me. She's a beautiful, smart and very good little girl. I couldn't have asked for a better job. And Marius, he's a little bit more impatient then Ebby but he's adorable and we've grown quite fond of each other. It started out as helping each other for a few months then it turned into a two year amazing experience. I really love them. I wanted a month off before the baby to have some time to visit family and well quite frankly a break from changing diapers beings I'll be doing it for good in about a month. It's hard thinking this is my last day with them. Ebby has been my pal, she does everything with me. I'm gonna miss them SO much. I'm so glad her mom and I are friends so even after the baby comes and they move into their awsome new house that we can still 'play':) It's been a one of a kind experience and I wouldn't trade my time with these two little rascals for the world...

THE PAST TWO YEARS WITH THE KIDDOS!!!!

No, she's not dead. She used to fall asleep like this while playing in the mornings.

So she wanted a bow in her hair cause she saw me do mine that morning and well I didn't have much to work with at the time, so this was the result. At least she was happy:D ....oh she's giving the bear kisses

I know this looks like poop...but let me assure you it's a chocolate cupcake!

Choice Experience

No he's not ours... but I sure wish we could have kept him. I got a call from our caseworker friday afternoon asking what our plans were from Saturday to Monday? I told her besides the baby shower, nothing. She then proceded to tell me a heartbreaking story about a 3 wk old baby named Kaden. Where we came into play was that he needed a home for 3 days. Since we had to get stated certified as foster parents to do our own adoption, we were qualified to do it. Of course we said yes. He was brought to our home saturday afternoon and stayed with us until Monday morning. Very rarely to you get this sort of practice with a newborn right before your own;) We couldn't be more grateful for having been blessed with the opporunity to be Kaden's foster parents for three short days. In those 3 short days we fell in love with him... we tried not too, but it was pointless. He was beyond perfect. I'll be honest I'm sure tried of falling in love with kids and having to send them home at the end of the day. I can't wait to finally kept one for myself:D No matter how hard it was, we're so grateful we got the experience, we're grateful we could be here for Kaden and give him safety, love and a home if only for three days, while his whole world was changing. It was so AMAZING to see seth with a newborn in our home. WOW! I now have truly witnessed what my husband was born to do. Alot of men don't like or enjoy the newborn stage... not seth, he was smitten. He got up with him in the middle of the night, rocked him to sleep and changed every 'other' poopy diaper. We pray for Kaden and will for the rest of ourlives. Thanks for coming into ourlives and giving us one more baby boy to love. We have complete faith Heavenly Father is watching over you. {Seth got a cute picture with him too, but it show's his face and well yeah, we thought this one would be better}

Pedro Baby Shower!

Saturday my two girlfriends Katy and Shaun threw me a baby shower. It was so fun. They did such an AWSOME job! They both put SO much work into it. The food was amazing. Some of my really good friends, old and new came and I was so grateful. The support meant the world to me. Thank you to each friend who took the time to attend. I enjoyed being with all of you for the afternoon. Thank you again my wonderful friends for throwing such a great shower... and steph who had a family party but did such cute party favors: Brown and Blue M&M's... 'Mason Mcvea' get it? cute huh:)

Look how cute this is! My close friend Katy made me this adorable album for Mason. It's so detailed and personal! I LOVE IT! Especially with pictures being such a huge passon of mine, it's gonna be so fun to have somewhere cute to put all of them.

Washin' the Car

I usually don't watch the kids on Friday's but steph had to work so I watched the kids an extra day... it just happen to be on the friday seth had off so we did lots of projects. She was such a good help at washing my car, it was so funny, she was so into it. I know the pictures could be portrayed as child labor but really she was loving it, I promise;) We also planted some plants. I wish I would have gotten some pictures of that but all three of us were covered in dirt. Thanks for your help Ebby Lola, you're the best helper around:)

Tall Ships Festival

Saturday evening we went down to the Tall Ships Festival here in San Pedro with our friends the Bailey's. We went last year and remember it to be very interesting but VERY hot so we decided to go later in the day and it was much better;) It's really cool, it where a bunch of really old 'tall ships' dock at the harbor and you can go aboard them and walk around and go in all the cabins and read the history and such. This year they had "HMS Surprise the boat used in Master and Commander" the movie with Russell Crowe. It was way neat to be on the boat they had the costumes they were and the props and stuff. Good thing Flynt knew it was there and lead us to it cause we had no idea:)

This one was just funny...or not:( We were walking down the sidewalk and Seth saw this. He thought it was hiliarous... I didn't so much. I didn't like the idea of living somewhere that had one of these-
