One day a year: A House Divided

Our house gets divided once every year and yes it's for the BIG GAME! This year was simply our year... we're just too skilled:) My family is die hard UTE fans and Seth's is die hard BYU fans. It's got quite interesting in the past few years! This year we weren't watching it with our families so are tempers and vocal aggression seemed to be within limits:) And I must say when Sethy lost 3 yrs ago to my beloved team he was a broken man... this year he did much better:) Mason was a fan of both, poor little guy just loves BOTH, despite what his dad is telling him! We had fun watching it at the Bailey's- thanks friends!

Here's some of Mason's game faces!

"Hmm, I think I like this"

"whew, that was close?"

"SO DISAPPOINTED"

Twilight Experience: Girls Day

First off: HUGE Thank You to our sweet husband's for taking the kids while we went out to lunch and had a date with our Edward! Some say it was corny.... I say it was WONDERFUL. Of course it was a little cheesy, did ya read the book;) I agree there could have been more but you never get all the details in a movie that you do in a book. I think going with all my friends just added to the experience. We sat there like little girls swooning over edward! We're such dorks.. but that's was made it so fun. (I know some people were disapointed with Edward but I think he was great, he couldn't have been cookie-cutter good looking it wouldn't have worked). Staci and I hoped that if we sat there long enough it would come on again. ha ha. Thanks for going with me girls:)

House of The Lord

I saw this on my friend Susie's blog and couldn't help but post it. It's been an eventful few weeks in the church and at the Temples. Reading this got me so emotional. I'm so grateful to be a member. The tender Mercie's of the Lord have not left us. Time to put our shoulder the the wheel my friends.

Shelly Gephart Adam sent a message to the members of Palos Verdes Stake.
-Subject: Thought this was great to share My dear family, brothers and sisters, friends and leaders:
My heart is over flowing with joy and gratitude to our Heavenly Father for His tender mercies and mighty miracles in our behalf. I just have to share this with you. As most of you know, I am a Temple ordinance worker and work the morning shift in the LA Temple every Saturday. Today, I had the priviledge of translating sister Martz-the new assistant Matron's-message during our devotional. She started like this "The prophet Joseph Smith said that no unhallowed hand would be able to stop this Work from progressing. These past few weeks when mobs have combined and armies have gathered against the saints, the Lord has protected His house". She went on to say that those, like her, who were inside the Temple when mobs were surrounding it, did not realize how scary and terrifying this looked on TV to the rest of us, because inside the House of the Lord all was calm and there was peace abundant. After Proposition 8 passed, the Temple began receiving threatening calls and mail from those opposing it. They were warned that more than 5000 people would come to the Temple and burn it to the ground, and stop Its work. The first Thursday when the mob came, the new LA Temple President called the Salt Lake City Temple Offices for instructions. He was instructed to call the local police and to insure the safety of those attending the Temple by closing the gates. The assistant Matron said today, that it was a tender mercy from the Lord that the mob chose that Thursday to come since they had only one person coming to receive his own endowment that day, which he received in time to leave before trouble started. The LAPD and the FBI responded quickly to the Temple Presidency's summons and patroled the grounds and kept the mob from entering the same. Most of them had never been there before and expressed their surprise at how beautiful and peaceful all around was. They were invited to come back during the Christmas season to see the lights and they promised they would. On Thursday, November 13th, sister Campbell, a secretary in the Temple, was opening the mail and upon opening a large manila envelope found inside a smaller one. When she opened this one, a white powder flew all around her desk. She thought this could be related to the demonstrators and feared the worst-ANTRAX. She contacted the President, who in turn called the Salt Lake City Temple office again for instructions. The FBI, the LAPD, and even the SWAT teams were once again in the grounds to investigate, and the Temple once again had to close from around 11:30 AM to 5PM. They closed the gates and were instructed to keep all the people there wherever they were found at the time. Those in the parking lot had to remain in the parking lot. Those entering the Temple had to remain in the first floor and those already upstairs were taken to the Celestial Room. Then, the miracles began to happen: A brother serving as a recorder that day is a Microbiologist by profession and used to deal with hazardous substances every day. He was the first to say the white powder in the envelope was only talc, and put every one at ease. Then the sister coordinator upstairs was impressed to call upstairs to the sealing area, and said "They said we can't go down but no one said we can't go up, and I have many people in the Celestial room with their ceremonial clothes on ready to work. Could they do some sealings?" As it happened, there were four sealers present that day and they ran four sealing sessions non stop while the Temple was closed. Downstairs, someone else thought to invite those in the Lobby to do some initiatories, which they promptly did for all those hours too, brothers and sisters alike. Among those waiting in the parking lot there was a large group of young men and women with their leaders who had come to do Baptisms for the dead, and who waited patiently all those hours and decided when the Temple was reopened to go ahead and fulfill their assignment instead of driving back home. The Temple reopened in time for the 5:30 PM session. The next day when recording the ordinances, they discovered that they had performed 2000 sacred ordinances on Thursday, only one less than the day before when three stakes had been visiting the Temple. Once again the assistant matron reminded us of the words of the prophet Joseph Smith, "No unhallowed hand can stop the Work from progressing...".
But, this is not all, a prophecy was fulfilled also. When the new LA Temple President was set apart by President Uchdorft of the First Presidency, he received a blessing and these words were pronounced: " The time has come for the LA Temple to come out of obscurity and become an Ensign for Righteousness to the world under your presidency." The pictures of the Temple have been shown on TV, newspapers and the internet, not only in this country but worldwide. People of other faiths have called and sent letters to the Temple thanking the Church for defending marriage and protecting the family, and commenting how impressed they are by how beautiful and majestic the Temple looks . One minister of an African American church, who by his own admission had harbored ill feelings against the mormons before said " I am impressed by your integrity and Christ like behavior, and even if I am not ready to consider you my brothers and sisters in Christ, we can be first cousins!". I asked the assistant matron if I could share her comments and she said to go ahead. I can only add my own testimony that I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has the power and authority of God on earth. God Lives and Jesus, His only Begotten Son and our Savior is coming soon to redeem His people. I am grateful to know this and I pray we stand firm, steadfast and immobile while the prophecies of the signs before His Coming are fulfilled. "Be not afraid, only believe" He has said, and also " What I the Lord have spoken, I have spoken, and I excuse not myself; and though the heavens and the earth pass away, my word shall not pass away, but shall all be fulfilled, whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same." I testify that this is true and testify it in the Holy Name of Whom I strive to serve, even Jesus Christ. Be faithful and safe is my humble prayer.
Your sister in Christ, Patricia H. Arnazzi
This was sent by a Temple Worker in the LA Temple. It is so wonderful to see the Lord' s tender mercies in behalf of the saints who strive to live righteously in the face of persecution:

One Amazing Man... and he's all mine:)

These are the beauty's I woke up to yesterday morning. They literally stopped me dead in my tracks. It was early and I was going the sink to make Mase a bottle and these gorgeous red flowers caught me eye. He's so incredible... I had no idea when he had time to get these, they certainly weren't there the night before. Things have been a little intense the past few weeks with the details of our adoption. We've kept it close to home but all the details that are coming in are overwhelming and my husband thought outside the box and just made my day. I truly love him and couldn't go through unexpected times with anyone else. He is my rock. I can't remember the last time I got roses and such breath taking ones at that. I LOVE YOU SETHY!

A new version of yet another tag!

thanks for the tag lins-

6 Quirky things about me....
I don't know if these are QUIRKY but it's what came to mind so...

1. I don't use dryer sheets or any detergent that has a scent or perfume.
2. I have a little ocd on being 'even' ... example: if you rub one shoulder you have to rub the other-
3. I make up songs all the time and sing them to Seth is a loud and funny manner:)
4. Um, what else. For the longest time I thought people were out to get me. I always thought I was being followed to my car. I just knew I was going to be attacked at anytime... Oh dear!
5. Every time I go to the post office I have to indulge in a white delicious cup cake and the bakery across the street.... even if I get in my car first and try to talk myself out of it. I always cave:)
6. before the whole 'married underwear';) my undies had to match my outfit. Weird I know. Like any saw them.... & no... no one did! :)

Opps! I forgot to tag people... sorry:) so here my 6:

Ryann, Chelsea, Melly, Megan, Kim & Amee

Sunday Stud:)

I went to get him ready for bed and they just plain old didn't fit! I was so sad. no more NB for Mason. He's hit this growth spurt and no longer looks tiny... Growing so fast already- Crazy! Cold Utah Weather... Brrrrrrr

Mason is a Cali baby so he didn't really have the right attire for a last minute trip to Utah when we arrived Grandma Cookie had the cutest 'shurpa' waiting for him. I called it his sheep coat. It was the cutest, most comfy thing ever! She also had to winter outfits for him that he wore over and over that weekend:) Isn't he adorable in it?! I'm just sad because it's newborn and well he's growing:(

Mason: MeEt YoUr FaMiLy :)

Seth had a last minute unplanned business trip to Canada last week, so thanks to my AMAZING in-laws I was able to fly home while he was away (then sethy met us there for the weekend).... What a blessing this weekend was. Being able to introduce Mason to his family was beyond incredible. We've waited for years to feel complete and to be able to have that and be amongst family was a very neat family- (we missed you Caldwell's) They were ALL so good with him and very excited. It was neat to see Mason, the long awaited nephew and grandson in our family's arms. The neatest part was seeing our niece's and nephew's hold and kiss him. That was almost overwhelming. They automatically knew who it was... they've been waiting too:) Hannah helped with every feeding and diaper change. When he would cry she would go by his face and say in a very sweet voice "oh it's okay, oh, oh, I'm here" thanks for all your help Hannah... you're baby sister is going to be in very good hands.... We started out at Cookie's which was great, she had everything cleaned and prepared for mason, we felt very homey there. He didn't like the first 20 mins of the plane too much... okay so I think mommy didn't like it more. Being in the small of a space with a screaming baby, while people just stare at you makes you sweat a little- Thank you big time to the red headed beauty mom sitting behind mom who made my bottle up for me and was so sweet... she saved my day. After bouncing for a solid 30 mins and singing quietly in his ear he fell asleep- thank heavens- It's weird, now when I'm in public especially at the airport, people are SO much more friendly. Usually women and usually ones with kids themselves but even the men would smile, open doors and what not. I felt like I had a birthday sticker on in school and everybody was nicer that day. So I applaud people of are extra nice to ladies with babies:) Anyway, Cookie's was great, it was a quick trip and mason seemed to not adjust right away so I decided to sleep there all the nights I was with my fam so the little guy didn't have re-adjust to every house. We spend the days with my sisters and then went to Seth's family's Friday night when he flew in. It was great to see my sister's. Jamie hosted a way fun pizza night for everybody. Cass came out for dinner at Cookies the first night and I spent Friday with Chelly. All fabulous days. It was just so fun to see mason among the little ones... we've waited a very long time to be a member of that club;)

MYA'S WALKING:)
When Brody first came in he walked sideways towards Mason with a crooked little smile on his face, that only brody can pull off. He peeked over at him, looked at me and this is how our conversation went

B: "Whom gave you him?"
I laughed.
Me: "what?"
Looking confused and full of speculation he continued
B:"Whom did give you him?"
I then proceed to tell him the 'kid' verson of how my belly is broken and I can't carry babies like mommy and how heavenly father sent him through a special girl who brought me Mason...
B: "he yours?"
Me: "yeah"
B: "him my new cousin?"
Me: "if that's okay?!"
Brody's whole face lit up with a smile and then screamed and left the room....

I guess that's all he needed to know... kids are so simple. i love it.
This is brody checking his 'new cousin' out. He kept saying 'mom, baby mason so tute"

Dax wanted to hold him too:) We had to be careful cause dax is a little.. aggressive with babies but everytime with caught him with Mase he was just trying to tickle him;)

Seeing The McVea's

Oh man, it was so fun to see Seth's family. They always make us feel so at home. I've never seen Seth's eye's light up the way they did when his family saw Mason. It was a precious moment. They were so smitten by him... then again I don't blame them, he is quite the stud! They were so good with him it's like I had a live in babysitter for two days:) Thanks for everything fam and thanks for all the rides Aunt Lilly (We missed you Evans family, big time:)
