Thanksgiving {2011}

Thanksgiving was amazing this year as it usually is! I love that it has nothing to do with gifts or money, it's truly all about family, good food and bonding:) We went down to my mom and grandma's in Toquerville and my sister's and their families came as well (I got pictures of all the kids in the pj's having sleepovers but then I realized my lovely camera didn't have a memory card in it:( so sad)...

Anyways it was beautiful weather we were even able to eat outside! The food was amazing and I even made some (okay 40!) little turkey's off pinterest for everyone... they certainly didn't look like they did on pinterest, but they were still cute.. As always my husband made the pie's with grandma GG (it's a tradition)!

We also celebrated my sisters birthday as we do every year over thanksgiving since her big day is on the 27th:)

Mason & Aiden had a BLAST with all their cousins and loved having a big sleepover everynight!

I just love being with my family!

"Get Out & Live"

I don't have a "bucket list," I never have. I didn't even know what a bucket list was until the movie came out. I have always just lived life and taken opporunites as they came, some of the time it's not even something I thought I would do or even wanted to until it came along such as my skydiving experience (which ended up being incredible and i'm so glad I did it.)

Anyway... one thing that has always been in my mind and on my list of "...maybe somedays" is a race. I am NOT a runner so I always thought it would be a 5K which I think is an accomplishment. However two months ago I looked at myself in some pictures and thought "what happened to me?" Along with the feeling of needing a change I took the plunge and got the vip membership to Golds.  It includes childcare so I have no more excuses. I have gone faithfully three times a week for the past two months. My sister in law is an amazing personal trainer and I am finally taking advantage of that resource. She has been amazing. She has me on an entire weight lifting (which is something I didn't think girls did) and cardio routine that we switch every couple of weeks. I have worked my bum off:) and I have already lost 4 lbs and have seen an even more improvement in my body. More than anything I feel empowered and stronger in my head which allows me to be better in all my areas in life:)

I must be feeling stronger... because last week hubby & I registered for the Ogden Get out & Live 1/2 Marathon!  I'll be honest I'm a little sick when I think about it. I've never even ran a 5k! AH! However I know I can do this. I'm not quiting between now and then, it's something we've both always wanted to do, so we're doing it!

Wish us luck:)

A special guest for dinner....

As we were leaving the grocery store tonight and Mason was pleading for a sucker at the check stand (dang maceys:) I told him he could get it but that it would have to wait until after dinner. He then shouted "NO DINNER!!!" I said "okay but then I guess you don't want waffles...."   "Waffles" he said with a grin from ear to ear. This kid LOVES his waffles. We rarely have them for dinner however Mason caught that darn 24 hr bug and was was throwing up ALL NIGHT LONG! So we've been strictly gatorade all day and wanted something easy for his tummy for dinner (hence no to the sucker!)

anyways.......

on our way home from the store he sees the moon and how unusually big and bright it seems and I hear the following quietly behind my seat...

"Hi Moon, you so bright. i go home and have waffles. you eat too? (pause as if the other end of this conversation is responding).... yeah okay you come too"

Then I'm included

"Mom, the moon loves waffles. he come my home YAY!"

My heart melted. It was pretty funny but also so cute and endearing.

I just thought to be a child again and live in a world where you could invite the moon to dinner*

 love him.....

Sad, Sad Day...

This is my dear friend Lindsey....
She was my first friend here in good ol' Spanish Fork.

We clicked.

Our boys that were 3 months apart, clicked.
(picture is the first time they hung out:)

Story time at the library started,
follow by playdates at the park,
celebrating the boys birthdays together,
game night for the adults:)
& endless babysitting swapinng!

 .............................................................................................................................

Then we both added to our family's and we're some of the first people to meet each others new additions.......both boys of course:)

Meet baby Ace & Aiden

I didn't know you could have 'friends' at such a young age but Mason and Linc totally proved me wrong. They ask for each other muitple times a week. They scan the culture hall during sacrament meeting until they find each other then they start to laugh and plan the way to escape to the others bench. They hold hands all the way to nursery and wave good bye to us as if they were all good because the other was there!  I even had to start taking a different route to the store because Linc's house is on the way and Mason would have a melt down if we didn't stop.
.............................................................................................................................

.... the sad part of this story is two weeks ago they moved away... far away!

A great move for their family, a sad one for us.

(picture of last playdate before Linc's move... noticed their first and last picture together... they've grown sooo much!  no we don't strip down our boys, both times were after dinner and their shirts didn't make it through meal time:)

Now Linc's mom is just as cool as Linc. If fact we adored the WHOLE FAMILY! They honestly became such good friends.... and lins became one of my best friends.  I am very much a people person and have always been blessed with great friends, but it's rare you find one you are feel completely at home with. One that is there for you when your husband forgets your birthday, watchs your kids even when they have a runny nose & shows up on your doorstep 15 mins after bringing your new baby from home out of state with a full course meal & sincere gifts.

This girl is one in a million and when she told me she was moving, I cried like a little baby all the way home from the park. To say I already miss her in an UNDERSTATEMENT. However I'm so excited for this new chapter for her family and Matt's new job. I know it will bring great things for them... just wish it was a tiny bit closer. Looks like our next summer vacation is to Seattle:)

Don't worry still asks for his Linc everyday and doesn't understand why he hasn't come to church in two weeks:(

Fall, Family, Fun

A few weekends ago Seth's sister's and their hubbys came down for the weekend. Sunday after church we drove up Spanish Fork Canyon to see the colors. The drive was so pretty on the way up! You really can't beat Utah in the Fall. Once we got up to the park, the colors had some what faded and already started die. It didn't stop us for grabbing a few shots and letting the boys play at the park!
