Baby Hayden

My very best friend from high school had her second baby two months ago and I finally got to meet the little guy on our way down south for President Day weekend. He was so darn cute! I have to admit as cute as he was I'm not even close to baby hungry again yet.... haha.  My friend looks amazing and no where near just having had a kid! It was so fun to have dinner with them and see our boys play.  We always joked about getting married together and then having kids and even though we got married two years apart we still managed to have a kids on schedule:)  Mason and Dax are three months apart and Aiden and Hayden are 7 months apart!

(horrible, horrible color in this. like i have said before, i HATE my point and shoot. i can't good a good picture on that thing to save my life.... ugh! oh well still REALLY cute boys!)

Story Time with Mr.Duck...

A couple weeks ago we were getting into the kids night routine which is Pj's and LOTS of book reading... when Mason spotted a duck costume that had been in Aiden's closest for over a year.  He pointed and pointed until I got it down. The thing didn't even fit him, it was for like 12 months or something but he insisted that I {make} it fit!  He loved it. When he would walk in it his foot would bounce up because it was so tight on his legs. He proceeded to wear it through story time and brushing his teeth.  Then when I told him it was time for bed, he went and laid down on the kitchen floor and did his 'fake' sleep.  Such a funny kid! He thought it was so cool and asked to wear again first thing the next morning!  I had to start hiding it so it didn't insist on wearing it when we were in public:)

{Cupid}

Valentines was a very, very good day this year. We did a date over the weekend since Valentines was on Monday and between work and school, Seth would not be home till around 7:30-8. However much to my SURPRISE I woke up to a text saying "Good Morning and happy Valentines Day. Sorry I can't be there with you but I have a game for you to play... go do a load of laundry"

From there an AWSOME, emotional, thoughtful, funny and endearing scavenger hunt unfolded throughout the whole day. I have a good man! He rarely does things like this that require a lot of 'planning ahead' so this meant the world to me. There was clues through texts, emails and our blog (as you can see he hacked in on V-day:) leading me to another thing at the right time throughout the day. Everyone has sweet message and a funny way to figure out the clues. The whole time I couldn't get over how much time and planning this must have took him. Again I have such a good man.

My favorite one was the letter and song he left on his ipod for me: Ben Folds, Luckiest. To say the very least... there was tears! So thoughtful, so cute! I love him.

Yes, I am one of those believers that Valentines Day is a bit corny. Flowers and chocolates on a certain day because it's the trend doesn't really scream genuine to me. However it's fun to let go and enjoy the day too....

Thank you {CB} for making my day special:) I love you more than you know.

Every year with maybe a few exceptions I make a nice dinner for him on Valentines day... this year I decided to do it picnic style.... Cheesey, yes? but once again sometime you just have to embrace the day:)

This years Menu: Broiled Sweet'n'Spicy Salmon with Pineapple along with Cilantro Rice.

it. was. heaven.

& then for dessert I made Raspberry-lemon Whoopie Pie's... Holy Moly!  They were so, SO, so good. We ate them too fast to get a picture:( so here's the one from the recipe.

...sunday nights conversation

while watching the Grammy's and seeing Jennifer Hudson's amazing weight loss this conversation unfolded.....

Me: "I need to lose weight"
Me: "Really babe, like ___ lbs! You have to help me"

without even skipping a beat or even taking his eyes off the screen he says with a calm serious voice...

Seth: "I know, I'll trick ya... I take you up to walmart, then hop back in the car and say 'see you at home' "

ba ba hahaha. i don't think I stopped laughing for literally 20 minutes. Who says stuff like that? The fact that he said it so nonchalantly was the real kicker!

Hey I can't blame him, he didn't mean "yes, I agree you need to lose weight" I presented a problem and he offered a solution.  haha. I don't know about you but that's how my guy works.. no mushy conversation about the whys and how you feeling, just wants to fix it!

So funny. Made my night.

So if you see me walking home the Walmart in Springville... he followed through...

Final Message

You’ve almost made it.  I hope you’ve had a great Valentine’s Day; despite me not being there.  I had a lot of fun planning this day for you and I hope you’ve had fun as well.  I’ve been thinking about you all day and all the reasons why I love you.  I could joke that I love you every day, why should this be different than any other day?  Well, let’s be honest, while I do love you every day, I don’t always show it.  I wanted you to know, more so on this special day, that I love and appreciate you so much!  We’ve had some amazing times.  We’ve been reminiscing a lot about our pre-children days and they were awesome!  Catalina, San Francisco, the beaches, hikes along the coast, camping in Trabuco Canyon, Hollywood, Pantages Theater, Long Beach Playhouse, movies & Cold Stone EVERY weekend, and so much more.  But these last 2 ½ years have been even more spectacular.  To see you as a mother to our 2 boys…you should see yourself.  Your heart is huge as you’ve not only accepted Mason and Aiden into our home but the birth families as well.  You are so selfless.  You always put others first, are so quick to forgive and forget, and love unconditionally.  You make me a better person by setting the example.  We will be together forever and we’ll get there because of you.  I can’t wait to see you.  I know you’ve been planning a special dinner and are probably in the middle of making it right now. Trying to do that with 2 sick kids has probably made that rather difficult.  So, when I get home from school tonight, plan on a relaxing evening.  Good news!  I was able to schedule the same masseuse from last year;)  Love you babe.  See you soon.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

I knew you would find it!  Now, these clues will come throughout the day at certain times.  Don’t worry, you will know when and where to look.  I can’t have you finishing this little adventure by 11 o’clock ;)  I love you so much.  You are the best wife, mother, and friend I could ever ask for.  I am the “Luckiest.”

Hint:  This drawer is a mess a week after you clean it!

My First Giveaway

{Check out my Valentine's Day Giveaway HERE}

Update

it's been a little bit since i updated on the boys so I thought I'd download my point and shoot and post some of the happens of the last month or so...

Good new first............

this little boy is healing well

:)

We've had to do things like this to keep his head safe......

..... from things like this:)

And after four months of making MEAL TIME a propority with Mason no matter how frustrating, has paid off... Finally for the first time in a year and a half he is back on track weight wise:) YAY!

The last month of the four months we gave him pedi-sure just to make sure he was getting what he needed.

Since the snow seems to be a forever thing here in here this season we let Mason go play in it (yes this is taken from inside the window.. .haha, there's no way I was going out in that... daddy got that job:)

Somebody decided after a head injury is the perfect time to try and start to walk!!!

We had sleepovers with cousins:)

The little men got haircuts by dad

Mason has continued and increased his love for music and stuffed animals.. such a cute boy!

...& much to his father's dismay Mason fallen in love with Dora (thanks to his cousin Mya:)

Someone just seems to be getting cuter by the day... not to mention growing up extremely fast!!!

Mase has learned to master his "cheese" for mom

...since Aid was getting so much attention after the accident someone decided they wanted to be a baby again:)

{Aiden now has six teeth}

Random... but that's been our life. All is doing well. We've been overwhelmed with the continued support and love by family, friends and neighbors in Aiden's recovery. He's a champ and is doing well. He's had diarrhea since the fall so we're getting that tested this week.  Mason is learning new words and sentences everyday... he's blowing us away with how much he is a big boy now. We're slowly introducing the potty but it doesn't seem to be going anywhere. He sits down on it for maybe a minute and then shuts the lid and says "bye potty!"  haha! Funny boy!  If any of you have tricks or methods that worked with your boys.. please let me know:)

{Blog Book 2010}

I LOVE how this years blog book turned out.  I used Blog2Print and was VERY impressed! I started my blog 5 years ago when we lived in Cali to keep in touch with our families, it has now turned into my family journal. I still love hand written journal entry's however with two kids this is the easiest way to record their lives... plus one of my favorite things are included: photos:)
