caldwell girls weekend

Every summer we try to do a girls weekend with kids down at my moms during the summer. This year we decided to try something new and I'm afraid it was so much fun that this will be the new tradition... Girls weekend away w/out kids... (sorry kiddos)

We went up to Midway and stayed at The Homestead. I had never been there but quickly fell in love. Me and Jamie both felt like it was a scene out of dirty dancing... not our weekend but the homestead;) It was such a neat place and midway... oh midway! I fell love with that little town too!

On our way up Friday we took a raft down Provo river, even though we decided to do 'self guided' we still lived:) It was so pretty. It's one of my favorite canyons. It was so fun to do together and we had a quite interesting time making our way down and figuring out who paddles when.

We got up to midway and played cards, ate good food, went to park city for a day for the alpine slide and shopping (& more shopping...opps!), enjoyed a bluegrass concert on the front lawn of the homestead, went swimming, watched movies, went on a search of a nature hike and finally succeed even if it resulted in Chelsea covered in ants (I still laugh when I look at the picture) and dressed my mom up in the super market!

It was one of the best weekends I've had in a long time. I am blessed to have my sisters and my mom as my best friends! (we missed you Cass:)

Father's Day

My kids are so lucky to have this handsome man as their daddy!

After having him as a companion I thought he was born to be a husband...
that was until I saw him as a dad:)

shore time...

My sister Chelly found this great spot near her house! It's a much of a 'beach' as your going to get in Utah:) The kids loved it!

Anniversary Get-Away

On May 29th we celebrated our 9th anniversary!

So crazy... I don't even feel old enough to have been married that long!
A few days after our anniversary we were able to go up to Park City for 3 days and 2 nights alone (a real luxury after you have kids).  It's been so long since we had some real time alone so this was so needed and much enjoyed:)

The drive up is beautiful! We went to dinner at our favorite spot Cierro's, went hot tubing, slept in, went to (2) movies, ate more good food, went shopping, walked around, swim, had a contest of who could stay in the sauna longer (Seth won, I hate those things!), pretended to be young and hip in best buy with headphones, went for a beautiful hike & really just enjoyed sitting next to each other without a child prying us apart!

I can't believe it's been 9 years. In a way I can't believe it's only been 9 years, I can't remember what life was like before him and it some ways I remember meeting him and my world changing like it was yesterday. We've been through our fair share in our years together. A lot in just the first few years. Some of the things most married couples are never challenged with but with the help of our savior and our dedication to each other we found our way and made a beautiful life together. I truly love this life I have with this man. He truly surprised me with how amazing marriage can be. He is my best friend.  Plus he's so handsome he still gives me butterfly's from across the room:)
