Cabins at the Bear River Lodge

Many months ago I reserved a weekend at a cabin the Uinta Mtns for our anniversary in May. It was a looonnnggg winter so they still had snow up there and the roads to it were closed. We decided to do to to Park City for our anniversary instead and reschedule for Sept for the cabin and take the boys with us! As frustrated as we were that our original plans didn't turn out, it turned out to be such a GREAT weekend and we're SOO glad we did it with the boys! The Uinta Mtns is a McVea family favorite and somewhere we try to take our boys every summer. The cabin was so nice and clean. We drove 50 miles straight up the mtns so it was nothing but forest! It was SO pretty. The leaves had just started to turn and honestly it was just want my little family needed. A little break, no cell for reception for three days, a jetted tub, homemade soup, throwing rocks in the river for hours with the boys, waking up to snow (ha, totally not on the forest, but we just took it as it came:), bundled up and wanted for a ride on the ranger, movie nights and pure family time! It was so fun and I have feeling that was the start of a tradition:)

Girls Weekend

This last weekend was the first weekend we were home in 5 weeks! The end of summer was coming and maybe we felt the party to go and do as much as we could? ha ha, who knows? All I know is my bed felt awsome last weekend. I just realized I have posted any of them so I'll start with one of our first weekends.

Me and my sisters, Jamie & Chel along with some of our kids (Aiden stayed with Seth since his parents were going to be in town from their mission for his sisters wedding) went down to toquerville to have a girls weekend and take all the little girls to Little Mermaid, along with Grandma GG and some of my aunts:)! It was SO cool. I have seen a lot of shows and this was was right up there. You seriously can't beat the outdoor redrock back drop but even the show was so well done! It was so fun to see with my nieces, they loved it! It was such a fun weekend! I love my mama & sisters:)

weddings, weddings, weddings;)

Now TWO of my hubby's sisters have gotten married while their parents are serving a mission! Good thing their allowed to come home for the event:) Some might look at it as bad luck or bad timing.... the mcvea's look at it as blessings of their mission! They joke that their parentals (as they call them) had to go serve for them to be blessed with their men:) haha.  Either way both sides of definitely being blessed even though we MISS them dearly and eagerly await their return in MARCH:)

Anyway, last month beautiful Missy got married! We love Dave and couldn't be more excited to have him in the family! We needed more uncles in the family.... my boys are surrounded by aunts. Literally 4 to 1 on every side!!! Love them as we may, boys need boy remodels because when mommy and daddy are away, and aunts are in charge for a whole weekend, we come home to 'pretties' on our sons finger nails!!! haha.

It was such a neat day:) We're so happy for them!

Mason was sick so he stayed at grandmas:( that's why he's not in any of the pictures at the temple.

The McVea siblings...  I'm not sure why we didn't throw the partenals in this one? that's what happens to my brain when I'm in professional and personal mode. I sometimes miss a beat!

We're missing Sarah and her family! They live in Michigan and weren't able to come out! :( The Evans family was definitely missed!

Aiden wanting to be just like his Dad & Grandpa:)

Mason was feeling a little better by the reception so we brought him along. They cute so cute all dressed up, me & Lilley brought them outside and did a little shoot:)
