I've been trying to play catch up all summer and post all the events and trips going on that I can't remember the last time I just posted about my boys. And since I print this out for our family journal every year I want the little times to be in here too:)
Because truth be told they are the main event and I just happen to fall in love with them all over again everyday!
They are growing up so fast and it is so fun to watch! Mason is his own little man and I can't believe he'll be 3 in less than a month!!!! He says the funniest things and has Seth and I cracking up on a daily basis. I am recording these purely for the journal sake and may not be funny for anyone else but those he really know mason.
Seth and the boys were eating breakfast one morning while I was away for a girls weekend and they had this little conversation.
Seth: I love you Mason
Mason: (throws his head back and fake laughs & says) You funny boy, daddy, you funny funny boy!
Last week Seth was giving the boys a bath and Aiden was all done so he took him in the next room to dry him off when he here's a lot of slushing and Mason take a big gasp....
Seth: (being totally paniced yells) "MASON"
Mason: I okay daddy, I ....O.K!"
Mason has started the lovely habit of screaming NO in our face. lovely as it may be we'd like it to stop. We usually talk to him about it and explain why it's not okay to talk like that to mommy and daddy! ...however one day he said it to Seth and it had been along day of talking to Mason about his behaviors and seth just snapped and said "Mason, stop or I'm gonna pop you in the mouth" ....now before you think we're verbally abusive parents you need to meet my husband before you take the sentence of out of context. He could not be more gental or patient. When he said it was out of frustration yes, but made us all laugh. The one bad thing was a few days later when I was feeding the boys breakfast Aiden wasn't very happy with the oatmeal that was on the menu and he was yelling "No, NO, NOOO" and Mason turns around and says "Stop it baby or I'll pop you in the mouth!" Then procees to crack up like we all did! AH! Not good! I quickly explained no one is popping anyone in the mouth and he told me "i know mama, i just funny, funny boy!" Lesson yet again learned how quickly they pick up on everything!
He says such funny things with me too but Seth is so good to write them down on the grease board when I'm not there so he can remember to tell me. So those are the ones I'm remembering at the moment. One that I can remember with me was last week...
Mason: Mom, I watch cartoon?
Me: Ummm, where did you learn that is was called a cartoon? But... okay, sure"
I turn the tv on to see whats playing and there isn't alot that suit his age so I say
Me: Uh, sorry buddy there's not a lot on for you, maybe in an hour there will be...
Mason: Measssse, Mom
So I start to mumble the shows outloud while going through them again...
Me: Hannah montana, Wizards of whatever... Dino Dan....
Mason: (takes the thumb out of his mouth and all casually says) Yeah Dino Dan Cu-ol mom, he Ku-ol (then pops he thump back in with even taking his eyes off the screen!
So there we have it, he thinks Dino Dan is cool and watched the whole 30 mins of it. I was shocked. That show isn't all cartoon, the kid is real and the dino's are in cartoon but I thought that would be too old for him to stayed entertained. Guess not!
Aiden has grown into a completely different kid now that he is one. For the first year he really just sat back and enjoyed life unfold. He was calm, patient and so easy going. Now he is fiesty, NOT patient and definitely lets you know what he wants, how he wants it and when he wants it!!!! Still I love him and he still has his sweet moments and he not be more cute! Somedays I think where in the world did my sweet little baby go? and then I realize fiesty or not I love to see how Aiden is growing and finding his own voice and personality! He has taken big brother pushes and toys being stolen away from him for a long time and the other day I heard Mason screaming for me and I found Aiden sitting on his face laughing. I should have rescued Mason but I had to stop laughing first. I think Mason and I were both shocked that Aiden finally fought back.
They both LOVE music. They seriously have dance offs in the kitchen EVERY DAY while I'm making dinner! They each try to out dance each other until they literally can't go any faster! Whenever the black eyed peas come on the radio they both break out in the head bob or booty shake! So funny! They definitley didn't pick that up from us, but they both have that in them! They both love to read. We have story time before bed that can take up to 45 mins! They both love their blankies! They're 18 months apart which has proved to be kinda tricky but I wouldn't trade it because their becoming best friends and that is so amazing to watch! Aiden looks up to Mason so much and wants to do everything he is doing! Aiden is learning new words everyday and unfortunately Mason teachs him some of them:)
They are the absolute loves of our lives and I couldn't imagine my days without them! I love being a mom. Hard days and Good day, I'll take them both to have these two in my life!

You have such an adorable family!
what a beautiful update! I smiled and laughed at their sayings and yes, even got a little home sick for my "boys." They are precious. Give them a hug and kiss from grandma McVea
