Day @ the Beach

My sister Chelly and her family came to visit over the weekend. She really wanted pictures of her kids by the ocean so we thought it would be fun to do a little photo shoot. It was rainy the first two days, but on Monday it warmed up so we headed to the beach. Right when we got there saw a pod of dolphins out in the waves, I quickly changed my lens so I had my telephoto on so I could get a close up. It was great we all watched the dolphins and then we decided we'd hurry and get the pictures out of the way so the kids could get messy and play. As I was changing my lens back, Chel was blocking the wind for me so no sand would get in it and then we heard this high pitched scream of terror. I'm not joking. Our hearts dropped, we turned around and saw 3 yr old Brody waste deep in a wave running as fast as he could side ways out of the water. The wave kept coming. My very first thought was DON'T FALL! If he would have fallen he would have gone under water and easily been swept away. We dropped everything a ran down to the water. Tough little brody made it out of the wave. Chel said she's never seen him ran so fast. He was bawling and we started laughing about how funny he's scream sounded. I think we were in shock and didn't know what else to do but laugh. It was a eery feeling. We then tried to do the pictures and it didn't work so well. Brody was traumatized and screaming and needed to hold on to one of us, Hannah just wanted to find seashells and Daxton wasn't interested in anything but he's toy boat. It was crazy! We got a few snap shots but eventually we gave up. Later that night it really sunk in with what happened to brody. We are SO beyond grateful the Lord was watching over us that very moment. It could have been really, really scary. I just love Brody. I'm so glad he's a fast little runner. I got a really scary lesson in never turning our backs.

It was truly fun having them. My nieces and nephews are the very highlight of my life. Thanks for coming Kiddos:)

I tried to calm Brody down with fruit snacks...so didn't work

TAG ABOUT US

How long have you been together? A little of over 4 years
How long did you date? 3 weeks!!! ha ha, yeah I'm not kidding either:)How old is he? 27
Who eats more? Usually him, unless it's ice cream, then I leave him in the dust.
Who said "I love you" first? Seth. I felt it long before I said it.
Who is taller? Seth, he's 6'2" and I'm 5'8"
Who sings better? Sadly neither of us are professionals but Seth can carry a far better tune.
Who is smarter? Book Smarts: Seth by millions. Street Smarts: Me
Who does laundry? Both. Seth a little more. It's down in the garage and it's scary!
Who does the dishes? Usually me. Seth is a great help though.
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I sleep on whatever side is furthest from the door. So I'm on the right, with how our room is set up now.
Who pays the bills? Seth does all of that.
Who mows the lawn? Uh, we live in California..to have a lawn we'd have to be millionaires!
Who cooks dinner? Both, his mom taught him well. He's an excellent cook and enjoys doing it. It's one of our favorite things to do together.
Who is more stubborn? Me
Who kissed who first? Well, that's a funny story. I tease Seth and say he ruined the 'moment' of our first kiss by saying "HUH?" but never-the-less it happened and it was "PERFECT". But yes, I initiated it or it would have never happened:) He's shy.
Who proposed? Seth
Who is more sensitive? ME
Who has more friends? Uh, me just cause I'm a girl and make new friends everywhere I go and Seth has his same best friends from High School.
Who has more siblings? Me if we're including half brothers and sisters, Seth if we're not
Who am I tagging? Everyone!

LoVe, LoVe, LoVe OuR FaRmErS MaRkEt! YuMmY-

Hike along Abalone Cove

Seth and I went on a really neat hike over the weekend. The first picture is where we started, we hiked down to the water, along the shore and up through a trail to that point in the other end of the picture. It was so neat! We enjoyed the warm weather and being outside again-

We got down to this cove thing and it was so neat. The natural color of the rocks were amazing- We saw star fish and this cool plant thing that closes up when the water comes. There was this cave where when the wave would come it in would crash into and the water would go everywhere. It was so cool to see. It was a great reward after the long journey down to it:)

(this picture is for you Melly, I got to drive a big truck! most of you know one of the great perks about Seth's job is he gets to drive a new car every two weeks... well it's great for HIM cause he never lets me near the stinkin things. He was in a really good mood and let me drive the truck on the way to and from our hike... it was huge and I was nervous but I didn't tell him that:)

WICKED

I'm the LUCKIEST girl in the world!!! So I drove over to meet my hubby at his work yesterday to ride over to the resturant together for his 'company' dinner. Only to have seth stop at a stop light and turn to me and say "So... the company dinner is a hoax" I just said "I knew it!!!!" He never has company dinners. I then said "oh dear, what do you have planned?" He just looked me and then I knew "WICKED" I've been wanting to see this play for SOOOOO long! It's been playing at Pantages in Hollywood for months now. He just said "YEP" -Oh man, I died! I freaked out while he was driving and tried to hug and kiss him... Then we both almost died. We had a great dinner at a little Italian place, even though I could hardly eat I was so excited. We drive up to Hollywood and were a little early so we walked around sunset blvd... It has this energy that is indescribable! I was a little nervous though, after we walked around I realize how much my hand hurt from cutching Seth so hard. There are quite the characters out there at night. Anyway we had great seats and the show was Phenomenal! It was seriously one of the best I've ever seen. It took me right back to the chills I got from watching Phantom at age 13 in San Francisco. It was PHENOMENAL! I don't even like the 'wizard of oz', however this a great story. The singing was unreal. I just tried to soak it all in. I just love the Theater. Really, I always wish for tickets to some show rather then roses, presents, trips, anything. I love shows. I've had the opporunity to see 10 broadway/off boardway shows in my life and this was a GREAT addition! Thanks SOOO much for surprising me with an early Valentines Seth. You're the BEST- I LOVE YOU!

MY VALENTINE

This is my amazing Husband Seth Michael McVea- He just happens to be MY VALENTINE as well:) I decided to do a post on him since this week is Valentines and it's a week to celebrate LOVE

I love this man for so many reasons. We've been married 3 yrs and 9 months! It crazy to think back over that time, sometimes it seems like time has flown and other times I think of everything we've been through and can't believe it hasn't been longer. I've enjoyed every single day with this man. Not to say there hasn't been some very hard times. However I wouldn't trade any of it. Those times have only made us stronger. He is my very best friend. We can laugh for hours on end. We just love being together. He has been my rock this past few years in trying to start a family. He's my strength, my protector and even pulls the sunshine out for me in the morning. He's my everything. I don't know what I'd do without him. Here's a few reason's why I love him SO very much:

I love Sethy because...

1. he's a great cook
2. the way he smiles at me from across the room
3. he gives the BEST massages (I usually don't even have to ask)

6. his passion for work
7. the way he really listens when I talk
8. the stupid comedy he listens too, but he just loves it and laughs at whatever Bill Cosby says.

10. 90% of the time he lets me have fill reign on the remote
11. he'll sit through 'jon & kate plus 8' with me
12. he never yells at me
13. the way he kisses me in the morning when he thinks I'm asleep
14. the way he'll cuddle up next to me before I wake up in the morning after a fight, so I won't remember the argument (it usually works, so unfair:)
15. the way he just laughs at me when we're in babies 'r' us and just lets me dream
16. He pushes me to be a better person, yet has never made me feel bad about who I am
17. the way he loves me for me
18. how he always thinks he's right and won't drop it
19. his paranoia of going bald is seriously the cutest thing ever
20. the love he has for his family
21. he's the #1 fan of my photography
22. how loud and involved he gets while watching football, you'd think he was in the stadium of a superbowl every single time.
23. the way he such a man's man.
24. he'll drive to Utah at night so I can sleep, even though it means he'll be awake the whole time by himself
25. he serve's so great in his callings and takes his priesthood seriously
26. his whole body shakes when he laughs
27. 'Most Shocking' on tv is like his favorite hour of the day
28. he insists that he doesn't steal the covers (even though every morning their touching the ground on his side) he says I 'give' them to him-
29. my sad eyes and quivering lip works on him everytime
30. he picks me flowers more then he buys me flowers.. he's so funny:)

SUPER TUESDAY

I don't know about you.. but I'm voting today. I know it's so easy to just think "everybody else will vote for who I want" "like my one little vote will make a difference" "It a way it doesn't really make a difference whose President, it doesn't affect me directly..." Well to you people I would say "WHERE'S YOUR AMERICAN PRIDE?" I'm only 22 yrs old so I've only had the opporunity to vote once prior to today and I remember saying those same things to my mom when she asked if I was going to vote? She was almost appalled by my answer and explained to me everything it meant to be an american, how increditable it was that I am able to vote as a women and as a 19 yr old (at the time) and how Americans fought for that right. WOW! You'd think I never went to history class a day in my life. I registered and voted even though I was confused on what to do with all those little boxes. Now, I'm honored to vote. I take it very seriously. I'm proud to be an American. My cousin Benny has served in Iraq for more time since the war started then not, my Uncle Mark served a 1 1/2 yr tour in Afganastan (safely returned home last summer), my cousin John who is 19 years old in over there serving right now, my cousin Jared is preparing to leave in a matter of weeks and my sister Cassie's Husband Nick just VOLUNTEERED for his 2nd tour in Iraq and will be leaving May 15th. I am an overwhelming proud American and couldn't be more proud of my family. Voting affects us DIRECTLY! It affects every aspect of our life... even though it doesn't seem like it, whose RUNNING THE COUNTRY WE LIVE IN, is a BIG deal. Have a say. Give back to everybody who has fought and is fighting for our country and rights. GO VOTE

I got this in Church and just thought it was so neat I wanted to share it with everybody

PROPHETIC PASSING

I imagine he's running to Marjorie now,
Yes, running, not waving his cane.
I see him embracing his father and mother
While they keep repeating his name.

I see him now meeting his forebears,
Brother Brigham and Joseph are there.
Sweet reunion of prophets, united by service
That only such noble men can share.

I see him embraced by the Savior
While Father says, "Good and well done.
So faithful in stalwart endurance, I welcome
My noble, most excellent son."

I then hear the ripples of laughter
As he says the reception's just fine,
But he hopes that he'll get an assignment or two
Since there's no need to waste any time.

I can hear his clear voice in the stillness
At the close of this sweet Sabbath day,
Have faith and move forward - there's work to be done.
President Hinckley would want it that way.

Anna M. Molgard, January 27th, 2008

I'm so grateful to have been alive during President Hinckley's service. I'm sure we all are in argeement of just how remarkable he was. I love him dearly and will miss everyday, however I rejoice in knowing his with his sweet wife now. I say "amen" to this poem, it's perfectly written!
