Be Strong... right?!
I wish I was stronger. So a couple of weeks ago we got an email from a birth mom. Of course we went crazy! Your stomach flips and your heart soars... excitement sets in but so does fear. Anyway it wasn't just two liner, it was a full, full email... questions, her feelings, all of it. We wrote her back that night, than we got another one from her the next day, we smiled and wrote her back again, so on and so on. We got to know her and she got to know us... We tried not to get our hopes up, we know how this can go but it was going so well we couldn't help it. Then as we checked our email everyday... okay 30 times a day it kept showing INBOX (0) and has for almost two weeks. Tear. I know this is the name of the game, I'm very aware of that. But for today I'm going to be sad. I realized as I checked my email a million times how crazy it was, how I was waiting for an EMAIL to change my life. That's just crazy! It's hard to wait for someone to choose me. Some times I feel like I'm standing back on the kickball field in grade school just hoping to not be the last picked. Except for hoping to have kicked well enough to be chosen I'm hoping to be cute enough, educated enough or have something that catches their eye on the website to be chosen. Good thing I have Mason to remind me how detailed the Lord's plan is. I know he has one. I know it's meant for me. I know it's not always easy. I just have to brreeaatthhh through this steps that make me stronger and put me one experience closer to the real thing. I just have to remember Mason was no easy journey but that's what made him so worth it... Sorry to vent. I'm back. I just had to get that out.

Good Times!
Earlier this week my very best friend from high school came to stay the night with her family. The boys decided to go fishing so Hollz and I caught up, went for a walk with the little ones and prepped dinner... as well as going to the store THREE times, we were so busy laughing we kept forgetting things at the store for dinner. It was great to have them here.
I met holly when I moved down to Toquerville during HS and we just clicked! She's been like another sister to me and my family. We've spent Christmas's together, went on each other's family vacations and always said we'd get married have kids close together... I ended up getting married two yrs before her so we were worried our kids wouldn't even be close, then she got married and I couldn't have kids... It just didn't seem to work- Until we got blessed with Mason and then she had her son two months later! It was very cool for us. Just another tender mercy the Lord allowed me to have:) It's weird to think 8 or so yrs ago we were skipping school, spying on boys and going to football games... now we're going on walks with our kids! Crazy! I'm glad she stuck around:)
That night we ate the fish the guys brought home for dinner than had "Tim Tam Slams"... it was John and Holly's tradition. You bite two corner's off of this tim tam cookie, put one end in hot chocolate and sip through the other end until the hot chocolate reachs your mouth then it instantly begins to melt and you shove the whole cookie in your mouth. It's crazy! I was a little nervous, it sounded weird and by the looks of their demonstration it was messy... Seth thought he had died and gone to heaven so I thought I would give it a go. It was messy, rich, hilarious, good and well something that was not to be forgotten. Thanks for coming you guys, WE LOVE YOU!

Mason's favorite place...
this is actually Mason's new mode of transportation.... He'll bring it in the room for us to pull him around it or he'll get a blanket, books and toys and climb in. I think every little kid goes through a phase of loving the laundry basket:)
Mason the SUPER HERO :}
Mason has such a little personality now, it's so fun! I realize alot of Mason pictures are in his Pj's... YES I do get him dressed.. most days:) This day was super hero day!
How to keep a toddler seated for FHE
Okay this was our brilliant idea to keep Mason seated for FHE... too bad it only lasted until he realized he was strapped in which was about 3 seconds... haha.
GAME NIGHT
Last weekend we had some of our good friends the Day's over for Games and Dessert! It was so much fun. The little boy Lincoln is a few months older than Mason so their great little buddies. We go to Story Time at the Library with them every week. We had them over and the boys played, we had dessert then we got down to business.. GAMES! Yeah, stinkin Seth wasted us! It started to not be so fun.. ha ha. We did learn a way fun new game called wizard though:)
This is right after we stripped they boys so they could eat dessert:)

I'm coming, I'm coming
I usually don't go so long without updating... I hope you haven't lost faith in me. I've been busy with my new calling, reading a new series, running outside to play if it remotely looks like spring, going to my sister's for the weekend, being a mom, having my mom in town, etc... I do have some posts coming up this week though.
-Game Night
-Mason the SUPER HERO
-Our scrapbook layout for our adoption profile
-Friends sleeping over:)
-Mason's new transportation
-How to keep a toddler to sit still during family home evening:)
Things I won't be posting about because I have no pictures:(
My mom stayed with us last weekend and we had a blast having her here. Mason's has never had his Grandma's all to himself like that so he was in heaven. I love having my mom here. We went for a walk, played games and ate good food:) She than came back up to my way from my sister's to see my talk in BYU sociology class last Wednesday. Our adoption agency asked if I would speak along side a couple birth moms in a presentation.... it was a neat experience but I think my mom came to make sure I didn't pass out;) ha ha.
Something else I forgot my camera for was this last weekend; we went out to spend the night at my sister Cassie's, we stayed up till wee hours in the morning just chatting! I love my sister! We always have so much fun together! Then Sunday we went over to my other sister Jamie's and had a delicious dinner with her fam and some friends Jay & Tami. I love going over there, her little girl Mya and Mason are the best of friends. Mya tried to trap Mason in her room to 'play dolls'... he wasn't so sure about that so they decided to play 'ball' instead:)
Something I'm way nervous and equally excited about is FSA (families supporting adoption) is a great organization that works hand in hand with LDS family services adoption agency and they asked Seth and I to be Activity Chairman’s. AH! It's a bigger agency here in Utah then it was in Cali and it was big responsibility but we're so excited to be apart of such a great group. There are other amazing families on the board and we can't wait to get to know them better. I just hope we can live up to what we're supposed to accomplish:)
