McVea's Come to Oregon

We were so lucky to have visitors 3 weekend in a row in April. The third weekend Grandma VV & Lilley came out to play. It was so good to see them. We have all missed them so much. We picked them up from the airport went and got breakfast at the Farmer's Market in Portland and then we took them along the historic scenic hwy to ended at Multnomah Falls. The visit was so fun. It's been so good to have family here!

Billyum & Cookie's Visit

We were sooo excited when Cookie & Bill planned a visit. They are people who get me. We have such a lovely time together! We didn't even tell the kids they were coming, it was so hard to keep a secret. They finally pulled into the driveway and I told the kids someone was here and Mason and Aiden immediately ran out to them. Mason saw that Ziggy was in the car and totally bypassed Grandma and Grandpa and went to him. Aiden saw Grandma cookie, walked up and hugged her so tenderly, he just stayed there with his head on her shoulder. We both just looked at each other. My heart melted. I instantly got the impression that his worlds just collided. He is the one that has struggled the most here. Especially when he get emotional or tried he'll beg to go home, back to his old room. I don't think he understood that both worlds still existed. I think seeing his grandma was a neat moment for him because he realized even though we were somewhere new, that world, his family at home still existed.

Everyday of their visit was amazing. We went to Portland's Farmer's Market, went to the Tulip Festival in Woodburn, Ziggy on walks, went to the Nursery and give my porch and deck and little color as well as planted my herbs and lettuce, then on their last night we went out to eat without the kids to Ava Genes and had a fabulous time trying new and amazing food. I cried when they left. I enjoyed them so much. It was so neat having someone from home here in our new home. They brought home to our house and left their warmth lingering.
