Random Post

I'm just sitting here waiting for it to get dark... I'm such a baby. No really, I really should have grown up by now, but nope I still feel like a 5 yr old when it comes to being left alone in the dark. Okay maybe a 3 yr old cause my niece Rylee is five and she does just fine. It's wouldn't surprise me to find out I'm just weird.... Anyway Seth left this morning for Portland. He has some training up there and won't be back until really late Thursday. Oh the joys of being married to an ambitious little bugger and living out of state. It's not a fun chance to do a girls weekend with my sister's while my hubby 'signs up' (NOT Mandatory) for a training session. It's a dreaded four nights in the dark ALONE. Like I said "BABY" I'm well aware of this fact. I have plenty of friends who have military husband that travel weeks at a time. Their SO strong... I admire them, not envy them.

I tried to wear myself out today so I'd be really tired tonight... Bad idea. I took Ebby and Marius (the kids I watch, 2 1/2 yrs and 2 1/2 months) to the post office, park and then grocery store. Our first stop should have been our last when Marius wakes up in his car seat from his peaceful little nap, screaming! Ebby so probably pinched him. It was a small post office with one loud scream. I tried to calm him down while trying to sort out the CD's with the addresses that I was trying to mail... all while getting looks like "did you feed him?" "Does he need to be changed" I just laughed in my head and thought.... I'll NEVER keep staring at a mom in public while her kids are freaking out, wondering what she didn't do... Now I am well aware that she probably did everything and their just having a moment... Then the park. Trying to fly a kite with a two yr old when there's next to no wind and she's demanding that it get off the ground and her brother really starts to scream because now he is hungry. The whole one eye on the toddler, one hand making the bottle the other rocking the car seat in efforts to lower his scream until you can get the bottle there so again strangers stop staring!!! Off to the grocery store... went well until I tried to carry tired Ebby, the car seat & grocery's out to the car and then load with things falling everywhere...(lucky it wasn't either of the kids). I just laughed in the middle of the parking lot and mumbled "I'm just the Nanny". Oh the ways we learn:) Props to all you moms! Days with them used aren't that chaotic, I definitely had an off day. Knowing Sethy's gone does that to me instantly... I LOVE YOU BABE and miss you already....

A Day @ Red Cliffs

Taelyn Kate Taylor's Baby Blessing

We were able to fly out to Utah and doggie sit for some close friends while they went away for the weekend. We also got to be there for my niece's baby blessing. Taelyn has a wonderful mom & dad (my sister Cassie and Nick) who asked Seth to do the honor of blessing Taelyn and what a sweet experience that was for him. (seth fell in love with her, she's got him wrapped around her finger for life).

A GREAT MAN

I went to Utah for my niece's blessing. I decided to stay and visit family for a week. The morning Seth flew home (monday, March 3rd) I got a call from my mom informing me my grandpa had passed away sometime throughout the night. It was an overwhelmingly bitter-sweet feeling. Sweet because my grandpa is no longer suffering, bitter because so many of us loved him and it will be hard to let such a huge part of ourlives go.

My grandpa was my hero! He was truly the kindest man I've ever met. He not only served as my grandpa, but in many ways as my dad too. He was my role model and protector. His funeral was very emotional yet extremely touching. So many people came to honor this sweet man. The words said on his behalf were increditable and so true. I can only pray I will leave half the legacy my gramps did. He was larger then life. We grew up hiking, biking and exploring the great outdoors with him. All of us would pile in his old orange truck on the weekends and head up the canyon for a drive, campfire or hike. He was all of our hero's. I have yet to meet a single person who didn't think the world of my grandpa. He was a strong and independent man, the last few years were really hard for my grandpa. He suffered from parkinsons, glacoma, eventually he lost his sight and his ability to care for himself. For so long, to many of us this man was indestructible and to see his body fail him was very tough. Even though in the last few years I heard my grandpa refer to himself as "worthless old man" let me assure you, there is not ONE thing my grandpa ever did that was worthless. As devstating as his trials were he still managed to teach something to everyone around him as he went through them: "endurance" "unfailing love for the Lord" "Patience" & "Humility". He faced his last few years with courage. I'm so beyond grateful to my sweet, sweet Grandma Deerie, my mom, Aunt Wan, Aunt Jan and Aunt Dee who catered to him these last few years. Your service to him meant the world to all of us. I'm so grateful I had the opporunity to live with this great man during high school, receive blessings from him, create memories that I will now cherish forever. I can't wait to see him again. I love the gospel through and through for that every reason.
We miss you already Grandpa:)

"Patience is the capacity to endure delay, trouble, opposition or suffering without becoming angry, frustrated or anxious. It is the ability to be God's will and accept his timing."
