Our Four Year Anniversary

Today is our Four Year Anniversary- That is so crazy! There's moments where time seem to have flown and moments where we remember all we've been through and can't believe it's only been four years. I met Seth at Weber State University. We were in the same student ward for the first semester without even talking to each other but we were definitely aware of each other. He was unlike anyone I've ever been attracted to. Quite, reserved, not flirty. He caught my eye the moment I saw him. As many of you know a student ward is a feeding frenzy! You would think church is the PROM with how dressed up some people get. The big guys trying to swoon all the ladies... I was instantly impressed with Seth because I never once saw him in the 'meat' circle. He always was off to the side hanging out with his roommates and genuinely looked like he was there for church. He was SO shy so we never talked, I wasn't used to approaching guys plus I was still figuring out a high school relationship so I stood back. We finally talked on January 11th and hung out the next night at FHE, then the next night and the next night... you get the picture. We were with each other everyday and four weeks later I had a ring on my hand:) Four months later we were married. I know, I know... Crazy! It was simply the strangest thing either one of us had ever been through. We became best friends and to be honest we didn't really even date. We were always in groups or with my best friend Holly. We didn't even kiss until the night we were engaged. I truly married my best friend. It was the best thing I ever did. I'm so glad we trusted our hearts and listened to the spirit that this was it. We've hit our share of bumps in the road but he's always been there to catch me every single time. I love Seth Michael McVea more then anyone on this earth. He is my best friend, my companion, my rock, my everything. I couldn't have got through half our trials with anyone else. He makes me laugh, feel special and protects me every single day. This past four years have been amazing:) Now we are finally starting our family and I am honored to be doing it with him by my side. I LOVE YOU SETHY:)

Welcome Home Sis. McVea

My sister (in-law, but we don't ever use that) returned from her mission yesterday. She served in San Diego, CA (I know, CLOSE to us, let me tell you how hard that was for us). She was such a good missionary. Valli faithfully forwarded us her emails every week, it was neat to read about the progress she was making and the lives she was changing. I love Lael, she's only a couple days older then me however we couldn't be more different. That's the fun part, we get along so well. I love Lael, she's always been in inspiration to me and I admire her beyond words. Anyone who knows her knows her dedication & love for the gospel and her family is incredible. She's always been very accepting of me. I just love having her as a sister. I'm so lucky to have been blessed with all the McVea's. Anyway, she's home and we're SO SO SO SO SO excited to see her in ONE MONTH. Welcome Home LaeLou:) We love you and are super proud of you. Can't wait to see you:)

Memorial Day Weekend with My Mom

My mom was on her way to Alaska for a cruise and had a lay-over here in Long Beach so she spent a few nights with us... We loved having her:)

I loved these little rocks down by the ocean, usually the tide is covering them. It looked like rock confetti (i even took some home with me)

GROSS! I can't believe he even touched this thing:( YUCK

Sethy took this picture... he's getting quite good. He loves landscape photography!

Cass, this one is for you... Mom says you hate these little trucks and won't even ride in one. So we took a picture for you. Through Seth's fleet rotation at work we get all kinds of trucks, vans, suvs and cars and I agree this one is a little ghetto... Wish you were here;)

Our get away to Catalina

For three years now we've been talking about going to Catalina for our anniversary, every year we talk ourselves out of spending the money... last Thursday we finally took advantage of living 5 mins from the port. Our anniversary isn't until this Thursday but my sister Chelsea generously offered to come and help me set up the nursery that weekend so Seth and I were trying to figure everything out on the phone and he said "let's just go tonight." Anyone knows my husband knows last minute unplanned things aren't in his character... However we both went for it. I guess the feeling of a kid coming has given us a sense of urgency:) Within 2 1/2 hours Seth had gotten off work early, bought our boat tickets and had made reservations at Catalina Canyon Resort & we were off. It was so fun and exciting, we NEVER do anything spontaneous! The boat ride was so relaxing as we cruised around the harbor. Then we sped up a litte bit and it started to get way choppy. The captain comes on and explains how he was just talking with other boats to see if the conditions had calmed down, but they hadn't. So he asked us to take our seats, stay sitting and that it would take a little longer then usual to arrive. We noticed the gray, cloudy sky and didn't think much of it until we were out in open water and the boat was constantly knocking into waves. I begin to feel my stomach in my throat. So, our fun romantic boat ride quickly turned into me and this other kid Joe (who was with his girlfriend) trying not to lose our stomachs. It was such a small boat so you could feel everything! We went out on the deck to see if fresh air would help and it did a little. So, we sat out there for the remainder of the hour ride and FROZE! It was quite funny! After watching the news that night in our room we find out southern Cali is in the mist of a crazy weather period. 40 Min's away they were having tornado's. 30 Min's away there was horrible mudslides so no wonder the ocean was crazy! Joys of last minute trips, we didn't check the weather:) Anyway, once we got to the Island we had a blast. It's just what we needed after such a crazy, crazy month! We tried the Tandum bike and it's SO not as easy as it looks. It was quite the test for our marriage..jk. The whole time was fun- great room, great food, interesting people & awsome sights! The next day when we went to the terminal they said the water conditions were the same, there was NO WAY I was getting back on that death boat again... So we took the opportunity of a lifetime (for us) and took a helicopter back to shore. We were both SO glad I got sick cause it was incredible! Expensive but so worth it! You just have to do those crazy things once in a while. Thanks for the awsome trip my love:)

IT'S A BOY! IT'S A BOY!! IT'S A BOY!!!

I got my 'moment' with Seth! I have been fantastizing for years on how I would tell Seth "I'm Pregnant"... Well when that didn't happen I always thought I could do something special to tell him we were choosen for adoption... in most cases the WOMEN knows about the babies before the guy, not in my case, I wasn't near my phone for either of the calls from Gemma telling us we were choosen so she called Seth. However today Melissa was so sweet and called me on her way home from her ultrasound and said everything looks great and that I guessed it.... "IT's A BOY" Tears just burned my eyes. I couldn't believe it! I was thrilled, everyone even Seth kept saying this one felt like a girl and I was like no way it's my mason. Melissa and I both thought it was a boy and she just laughed and said... "we knew it" I guess moms do know best;) Anyway I FINALLY knew something before Seth and I wanted to make it special for him so I went and got It's a boy ballon (of course) and chocolate cigars (I told the guys at his work they were mormon cigars)... It's usually not allowed to go into Seth's work without his clearance, I need a pass to get through but the sweet lady at the desk saw the occassion and let us through. A nice guy saw me carrying Marius, ballons, the box of chocolate cigar and trying to hold Ebby's hand up the stairs and he kindly took Marius from me and escorted me to Seth's desk. I hid behind a cubacule while Ebby had the ballons in one hand and the box in the other and walked up behind him and said "it's a boy!" Seth turned around and had the most amazing surprised grin on his face. I came out and we just hugged. I told him he was going to have a SON. It was such a neat moment. All the guys in the office came over to congradulate him, Seth had fun handing out his mormon cigars! They were all very nice. It was such a great day:)

Ebby & I down in the lobby on our way to surprise Seth:)

Meeting Melissa

These last two days have simply been the best days of our life. We didn't know we could feel this happy and have so much hope. Yesterday we were able to meet Melissa and her parents, it was such an intense, personal, emotional and surreal meeting. It couldn't have gone better. She is wonderful! We fell in love with her over our hour and a half meeting. Her parents are great and made whole atmosphere comfortable. There were moments where I couldn't believe we were really sitting there. She expressed her feelings and reasons for choosing us and we were able to thank her sincerely from the bottom of our hearts in person for this amazing gift. We were able to take some pictures with her and her parents however out of respect for her and privcy of this situation I decided not to post them. She's BEAUTIFUL though. We were both taken back. Pretty dark hair, big brown eyes and the most adorable little belly:) Her spirit was so bright and strong. It was just in creditable. We never could have imagined we'd get this lucky with a birthmom and her family. The wait was worth it. We wouldn't be wanting to go through this with anyone else. My heart was flooding with emotion yesterday and now it's spilled onto today. I feel like it's a dream. Our families have been fantastic. They have all been so cute:) Oh man, it's really happening!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Work out?

So I used to do walking with Ebby and now with her and Marius it's much more difficult (I don't have a double stroller). I tried to fit them both in the stroller and it was quite funny.... not so successful. So I'm thinking I'll try a work out at home. I have to admit, I've never done any kind of video, not cause I'm against it, I've just always done stuff outside, the gym or yoga class... Those things aren't so easy to get to anymore... So I want some advice on what works? I went to buy a video and they all looked so cheesy! Help! What really works? What do you use?

Any idea's????

So we meet the birth mom on May 13th, her birthday is two days later on the 15th. I'd like to get her something but I'm completely stuck. I've thought of jewelry however when the baby comes I'd like to give her some sort of Jewelry with the baby's birthstone in it. Should I do more jewelry? I'm nervous, it can't be too much or too little... Too insenitive or not personal enough... Any idea's would be greatly appreicated

-Joni, Yes I remember when your family got Jordan. Funny but that's where my thoughts of adoption started, even though I was young. I remember seeing how natural it was for your family and feeling how much Jordan was supposed to be there. Thoughts about adoption never left my mind from then on. As I grew up I felt it was something that I'd do someday (I even wanted a different race like Jordan, he was so cute)... So Thank You, I think my exposure to it from you and your family was meant to be:)

Everybody else thank you for your support and love. All your comments have meant so much to us.
