Earthquake

Hey just a quick little post... Phone lines are down so I know my family can't get through. We just had an earthquake and wanted them to know we're okay. I'm at home with the kids and Seth is at work. I grabbed Ebby and ran to get Marius, we stayed in a doorway until it stopped and seth is being evacuated at work. It was insane, and nothing I ever want to feel again. Talk about getting a little rattled. The news is saying it was a 5.8 with 3.5 after shocks so it's good that it's lessening. I'll call as soon as I get through. I got Nikki's text so she should be contacting you mom. I'll call as soon as I get through-

Wedding Tag

I saw this on our cousin Mouse's blog... I thought it was fun and different- a tag I haven't seen before:)

Wedding Tag

1. What month and year were you married? May 2004
2. How did he ask you? One night Seth took me up to the Weber football stadium, it was all dark and spooky. We go all the way to the top and down a long hall where he opens a door to a beautiful suite. It was candle lit with a beautiful dinner waiting... my favorite homemade Lasagna! Once we got to the stadium and he was being all weird I knew something 'special' was up...plus I drug it out of my best friend the day earlier (Seth's lesson learned: never have holly in on it, I can totally tell when she's keeping something from me and I will be relentless until I get it out of her...) So once I realized this might be it, I got all nervous but when he opened that door and I saw this whole thing set up, I was beyond impressed. He went through SO much work. He made everything himself! We ate dinner and we were both so nervous that I think we said two words... He finally slid down to his knee and pulled out a box... I just froze. I so knew it was coming but I don't know, the intensity surprised me. He then said "I love you more each day I spend with you and I can't imagine my life without you, Lacey Jay will you be my wife?" .... Clearly I said YES
3. Where did you honeymoon? Park City. Exotic I know. But really I wouldn't change it. We were so tired and marriage was so new that we really enjoying being tucked away in a lodge for a few days. Very relaxing:)
4. Can you still fit your dress? Um, probably not. It was tight to begin with. I borrowed it from my sister's friend who got married a couple months earlier and spent $950 on it so when I could squeeze into it, it made my day! Now... not so much
5. What was the worst gift you got? We didn't really get bad gifts, however we did get 7 proclamations to the world, so that was sort of a joke in the family. We loved them all though, and actually had them all hanging at one point...:D
6. What flavor was your wedding cake? Mmm, the only cake I like.. White on White.
7. Were you a bridezilla? I don't think so... ask Seth's mom;) I don't think there's was enough to get that upset over... there was definite moments of stress but our wedding was very simple and family really made it happen. I wasn't too picky on things, it was weird, I wasn't too girly when it came to the wedding.
8. What's one thing you would change about your wedding? Um, my hair. I look like I was going to the prom... what do you expect from a 18 yr old bride:) ha ha, I don't even know if I'd change that, it's who I was at the time. I do wish it wouldn't have rained and we could have kept our garden reception.
9. Do you still look at your wedding pictures? Yep
10. What colors did you use? Purple and yellow. That's something I might have changed. I didn't really think too much about it. It seemed like normal wedding color's and someone suggested that combo so I went with it... Like I said not to picky
11. Where did you tie the knot? Salt Lake Temple
12. What's one funny thing that happened that day? Seth and I were driving up to Park City after the reception for our honeymoon after I had delayed it as long as I could out of nervousness and my mom basically put me in the car and said "GO" anyway we were driving up and I had a Ziploc bag of fruit sticks on my lap that our families had sent us with to munch on and we were chatting and getting more nervous when we saw that we were actually getting close...when I felt something wet and I lifted up the bad and saw that the sticks and poked a hole in the bag and all the fruit juice had leaked all over me. It looked like I peed my pants BAD and it was sticky. I started to laugh, I instinctively started to take off my pants when I realized I was in my NEW under garments, with my NEW husband... Oh dear! What a funny moment. We got comfortable real fast, thanks to the leaking fruit juice, how romantic:D
13. How many showers did you have? One
15. Did you give any wedding favors away? Yeah, my bf's mom made us little chocolate's with personalized wrappers
16. Who caught the flowers and garter? My sister's Jamie caught my flowers and Holly's little brother Richard caught the garter.. I had her get it back because I thought he was too young to have that sort of thing;)
17. Who was your officiant or minister? A sealer at the temple. Amazing guy
18. How much was your wedding dress, undergarments and all? $0. No wait I did have to rent a slip for like $20 bucks. I was so blessed and borrowed a beautiful dress I never could have afforded.
19. Was there dancing? Just our first dance, it was one of my favorite parts of the day
20. Where was the reception? It was supposed to be in the beautiful backyard of a friend of the McVea's (where seth's parent's actually had theirs) who had a beautiful garden but it rained... so the provo ward ladies literally put a whole church reception together in less the 42 hours... talented!
21. Would you go back and do it over again? Honestly, probably not. I love where we are.
22. How long did you have to plan your wedding? 3 months.
23. What kind of car were you in when you drove away?
Seth's mom's car... Toyota of course!
24. How many in your wedding party?
We didn't really have a wedding party. Our family wore flowers on the wrists and coats but no one had the whole outfit get-up
25. Did you go anything different in your wedding or reception?
Not really
26. Did you save the top layer of your cake for your 1 year anniversary? Yeah, Seth's parents saved it for us. I actually had never heard of that until they told me they would save it
27. If you saved your cake, did you eat it? Yeah about one bite... not so good
28. What was the grand total spent your wedding? Honestly a couple hundred bucks. We did it really simple and our family and friends were AMAZING and did a lot for us.

Memories

I got this idea off my cute cousin Nikki Shea's blog... Might be fun!

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Happy 1st Birthday Amaiya Lacey!!!

I should have done this with all my niece's and nephew's birthday's but I'm a little slow and forgot...

But today is my niece AMAIYA'S 1st BiRtHdAy and I'm so sad I can't be with her to celebrate. So I just wanted to tell her happy birthday and that I love her! I remember waiting all night in the hospital for her to be born... (I was so lucky and was in Utah at the time). Me, Seth, Cassie, Cookie, Tami and my mom all slept on the hospital floor & chairs in the waiting room. It was the longest night ever. We were there around 10PM and Mya decided not to come until around 7AM. I was honored to be in the room when she arrived. It's the second birth I've seen and it's something I'll never forget. It's even more special because I may not ever experience that for myself. So I am beyond grateful to have been able to experience it with my nephew Brage and then my niece Amaiya. It's the most increditable thing. I've thought she's pretty special ever since;) When they named her after me... I was one PrOuD AuNt! It made my day... no MY LIFE. I adore Amaiya! I can't believe it's already been ONE YEAR! Jamie and Amaiya were able to come spend a whole week with me in June and it was one of the best weeks of my life. We laughed everyday until we were sick. Jamie is seriously the funniest girl to be around and Amaiya is beyond precious! I miss them everyday. I Love You Mya! Happy Birthday Baby Girl:)
(Cute, I know! I had a cold so I had to cover up!)

Family Reunion 2008 (4th of July weekend)

We had a family reunion out in Utah over the 4th of July weekend and it was SO fun. I loved having my entire family together, I felt like we all got a lot closer. We were in charge of it this year and it was so worth the work. Everybody pitched in and was so helpful. The kids were hilarous the whole time. I just adore each one of them! There was the 4th of july parade, a BBQ, games, potatoe sack races, crazy golf, fireworks, slip'n'slide, pinata, some what of a kick ball game:) water activites... it was such a BLAST. I will truly never forgot the awsome memories we made:)

Oh and we had everyone come with their own family T-shirts with their name on it. People were so creative and fun. They all turned out awsome... Thanks for wearing yours Jesse:D

Layton Baby Shower

We were SO blessed. While we were in Utah both sides of our families threw us a baby shower for Mason. It was overwhelming to say the least. I wasn't prepared (I thought I was) for the emotion that came with celebrating this amazing thing that is finally happening. I know it's just a baby shower to some, however I've been waiting 3 1/2 yrs to experience a 'baby shower' for myself... it's a HUGE sign that it's real;) Both showers were amazing! I got to see so many of Seth's side that I haven't seen in a long time. I love his family. Their all so sweet. At my family one, so many of my cousins that I grew up with came. I cannot thank them enough. It meant the world to see them. I got to see my beautiful cousins wives, that I adore, my childhood best friend (Joni) who is my inspiration in adoption, Netter who was like a mom to me growing up, who I haven't seen in YEARS!!! My sister-in-laws, my SISITERS, my bestest friend Hollz, my Mom, cookie, Aunts! Everybody that was important to me was there (except for my amazing family from Toquerville, they sent their LOVE though) The whole thing was amazing! Both of them were awsome. I know how much work went into both showers... You should have seen the details:) Increditable! Thank you to those of you who played apart and made Mason awsome celebration happen. I'll never forgot your details, heart and effort. They were perfect- THANK YOU!

My sister Chelly made this... It was SO tasty

This was probably my favorite... HOW CREATIVE! I had to fight my nieces and nephews to be able to take on home with me.

These were beyond delicious! Homemade by Cookie & her mom Arlene

Father & Son

You're never too old for some father son bonding... Seth has been dieing to spend some quality time with his pops! Last week when we were in Utah, Seth and his dad were able to go backpacking up in the beautiful Unitas for a few days. They had so much fun. Before leaving they were both like little kids before Christmas, it was so cute. I love seeing the friendship and bond between them... I can't wait for Seth to take Mason along:)

Brody's OKAY!

Yes, we're finally home from Utah and it was an AmAzInG trip! I have tons of pictures to post but I just got done unpacking and I got great news, my nephew Brody was released from the hospital today. Saturday night during our family reunion he was taken up to Primary's Childrens Hospital with a scary situation. We were all so worried. Seth & my brother-in-law gave him a blessing and we all continued to pray for him. We went to visit him on Sunday and he was so darn cute with his little grown on. The first thing he did when I walked in the room say "Hey Aunt Wacey, Thumps Up!" As he held his hugely bandaged thump up in the air. We just love Brody J and couldn't be more happy that he's okay. You can read more of the story on my sister Chelsea's blog... WE LOVE YOU BRODY!

Oh yes, the blue cast... he was just in the ER two weeks ago cause he had broken his other hand from falling in the backyard. Sad:( He's so tough
