I saw this on our cousin Mouse's blog... I thought it was fun and different- a tag I haven't seen before:)
Wedding Tag1. What month and year were you married? May 2004
2. How did he ask you? One night Seth took me up to the Weber football stadium, it was all dark and spooky. We go all the way to the top and down a long hall where he opens a door to a beautiful suite. It was candle lit with a beautiful dinner waiting... my favorite homemade Lasagna! Once we got to the stadium and he was being all weird I knew something 'special' was up...plus I drug it out of my best friend the day earlier (Seth's lesson learned: never have holly in on it, I can totally tell when she's keeping something from me and I will be relentless until I get it out of her...) So once I realized this might be it, I got all nervous but when he opened that door and I saw this whole thing set up, I was beyond impressed. He went through SO much work. He made everything himself! We ate dinner and we were both so nervous that I think we said two words... He finally slid down to his knee and pulled out a box... I just froze. I so knew it was coming but I don't know, the intensity surprised me. He then said
"I love you more each day I spend with you and I can't imagine my life without you, Lacey Jay will you be my wife?" .... Clearly I said
YES3. Where did you honeymoon? Park City. Exotic I know. But really I wouldn't change it. We were so tired and marriage was so new that we really enjoying being tucked away in a lodge for a few days. Very relaxing:)
4. Can you still fit your dress? Um, probably not. It was tight to begin with. I borrowed it from my sister's friend who got married a couple months earlier and spent $950 on it so when I could squeeze into it, it made my day! Now... not so much
5. What was the worst gift you got? We didn't really get bad gifts, however we did get 7 proclamations to the world, so that was sort of a joke in the family. We loved them all though, and actually had them all hanging at one point...:D
6. What flavor was your wedding cake? Mmm, the only cake I like.. White on White.
7. Were you a bridezilla? I don't think so... ask Seth's mom;) I don't think there's was enough to get that upset over... there was definite moments of stress but our wedding was very simple and family really made it happen. I wasn't too picky on things, it was weird, I wasn't too girly when it came to the wedding.
8. What's one thing you would change about your wedding? Um, my hair. I look like I was going to the prom... what do you expect from a 18 yr old bride:) ha ha, I don't even know if I'd change that, it's who I was at the time. I do wish it wouldn't have rained and we could have kept our garden reception.
9. Do you still look at your wedding pictures? Yep
10. What colors did you use? Purple and yellow. That's something I might have changed. I didn't really think too much about it. It seemed like normal wedding color's and someone suggested that combo so I went with it... Like I said not to picky
11. Where did you tie the knot? Salt Lake Temple
12. What's one funny thing that happened that day? Seth and I were driving up to Park City after the reception for our honeymoon after I had delayed it as long as I could out of nervousness and my mom basically put me in the car and said "GO" anyway we were driving up and I had a Ziploc bag of fruit sticks on my lap that our families had sent us with to munch on and we were chatting and getting more nervous when we saw that we were actually getting close...when I felt something wet and I lifted up the bad and saw that the sticks and poked a hole in the bag and all the fruit juice had leaked all over me. It looked like I peed my pants BAD and it was sticky. I started to laugh, I instinctively started to take off my pants when I realized I was in my NEW under garments, with my NEW husband... Oh dear! What a funny moment. We got comfortable real fast, thanks to the leaking fruit juice, how romantic:D
13. How many showers did you have? One
15. Did you give any wedding favors away? Yeah, my bf's mom made us little chocolate's with personalized wrappers
16. Who caught the flowers and garter? My sister's Jamie caught my flowers and Holly's little brother Richard caught the garter.. I had her get it back because I thought he was too young to have that sort of thing;)
17. Who was your officiant or minister? A sealer at the temple. Amazing guy
18. How much was your wedding dress, undergarments and all? $0. No wait I did have to rent a slip for like $20 bucks. I was so blessed and borrowed a beautiful dress I never could have afforded.
19. Was there dancing? Just our first dance, it was one of my favorite parts of the day
20. Where was the reception? It was supposed to be in the beautiful backyard of a friend of the McVea's (where seth's parent's actually had theirs) who had a beautiful garden but it rained... so the provo ward ladies literally put a whole church reception together in less the 42 hours... talented!
21. Would you go back and do it over again? Honestly, probably not. I love where we are.
22. How long did you have to plan your wedding? 3 months.
23. What kind of car were you in when you drove away? Seth's mom's car...
Toyota of course!
24. How many in your wedding party? We didn't really have a wedding party. Our family wore flowers on the wrists and coats but no one had the whole outfit get-
up
25. Did you go anything different in your wedding or reception? Not really
26. Did you save the top layer of your cake for your 1 year anniversary? Yeah, Seth's parents saved it for us. I actually had never heard of that until they told me they would save it
27. If you saved your cake, did you eat it? Yeah about one bite... not so good
28. What was the grand total spent your wedding? Honestly a couple hundred bucks. We did it really
simple and our family and friends were AMAZING and did a lot for us.
