Last Saturday we were apart putting on the FSA's Annual Celebrate Adoption Walk. It went so well and we were SO supported by our family! It's been so fun to be on the board of FSA (families supporting adoption) we've made great friends and are able to be involved in something is so close to our hearts! We started with our official walk and at the end we met in the middle of the track and paid tribute to our families and their amazing birthmoms. Then everyone let go of a ballon in honor of who they were celebrating! We had signs on backs of who we were 'walking' for. Seth and I each took one of the boys name for our signs then we put their birthmoms names on theirs. It was a fun day and so good to have so many family members make such an effort to support us. Afterwards we came back to our house and celebrated Aiden's birthday!
Seth made Mother's Day so special! I got to sleep in, wake up to a nice breakfast and kids that were in such a good mood! We spent the day with my sister's and their families which was so fun, then we came home and I got a foot and back rub! Seth is simply the best! It was a good day and I'm so glad I have the two boys that I do that make me a mom!!!! .... and the two women that made that possible... a piece of my Mother's Day will always belong to them:)
Oh and I can't forget the amazing present the boys and Seth made me. Yes, I said made, my husband actually went to a craft store and then did crafts w/the boys!
It is one of my most favorite gifts EVER! I love it!
It's Mother's Day tomorrow and I'm pretty sure I got the best one of the bunch:) She has been both my mom & my dad for me my whole life. She covered the dramatic tearful nights of me crying over dumb boys, taught me how to plant flowers, work in the garden, as well as changing my oil and tires! As I said she covered every end. There was never a day where I didn't think she loved me, I always, always knew. Having always questioned that with my other 'parent', knowing she always did was so comforting and something that stayed in my heart everyday! I did my own thing for a few years... my mom found me, brought me back to who I was and sacraficed so much to do so. She never stopped believing in me. Words cannot express what I feel for this women. When I wasn't becoming a mom, it hurt in so many ways but one because I know what she did for me and how much I love her, I was sad that I might that experience and relationship with my own. So to now be blessed with two beautiful boys and get a mear attempt at being who she was for me... for them; it's an honor. One I have never ever taken lightly. Motherhood was something I learned to appreciate in my mom more as I grew older, now that I'm a mom myself I realize it's a job, opporunity & an amazing experience all in one. To me, Motherhood is something you rarely feel like your getting right or doing enough of, but alas you never quit trying:)
Thanks for never quiting when you had every reason to somedays... I love you more than you know Ma!
Yesterday was Aiden's birthday! Because we are involved with putting on an adoption celebration 'walk' in two weeks through the board wer're on with FSA (families supporting adoption), we decided to do his family party the same day so the fam only had to travel once.... So yesterday we celebrated with his Tatie D (birthmom) and her friend Korey! It was such a neat and relaxed day! Aid opened his gifts, we had a yummy dinner then enjoyed some cake! Aiden is such a big boy, D had not seen him for nearly six months so she was blown away! His accident a few months ago was so scary for us and celebrating his birthday was a milestone we were so grateful to have! Mason didn't like that the day was all about Aiden so Aiden was okay with 'sharing' his birthday as Mason insisted "it's MY burf-day too!!!" haha. I laughed and told Seth sharing the birthday worked this year but I doubt it will in the future! It was such a neat day and I'm so glad we got to spend it with Korey & D and we can't wait to celebrate it again with our families in two weeks!!!!
OH & THE LITTLE STUD DECIDED TO SURPRISE US & TAKE HIS first THREE STEPS ON HIS BIRTHDAY!!!!
