MASON'S 1ST DAY OF PRESCHOOL

The day has come for my first child to go to his first day of school! I knew we were in trouble when I rounded the corner of the street that his school was on and my throat started swelling with emotion. I thought "oh crap, I'm trouble for drop off" I held it together until I walked out, then Aiden and I cried together on the way home. So proud of my brave boy that took his teachers hand and waved goodbye with a little bit of nervousness but an even bigger smile! Can't wait to hear all about his morning!

 Saying their goodbyes:) It was so cute. Aiden could tell something was happening for Mason and he started to get really clingy with him... Mason explained to his brother that it wasn't forever and that he would be back!!! Who said you had to have girls to have the dramatics:)

SHAY

Little Miss S

We are sooo in love

We just got Shay’s court date and we are SO excited! After we go to court and get her adoption finalized we are able to then have her sealed to our family and Seth is able to bless her. It’s a memory with each of our children we have never forgotten. It such a special moment with them individually and for our little family as well. We are so excited to experience it with Shay! She already feels like ours so in a way it seems silly to have to go to court, but the experience is still very neat.

She is doing so good and is such a good baby! My heavens, how did I get so lucky! She rolled over for the first time two days ago! I don’t even think she knew what she did, she just wanted a toy and kept reaching. She sleeps and eats like a dream. She has totally started interacting and loves to be played with. Her smile and laugh simply melt your heart. She has even won the affection of her older brother Aiden who is really sweet with anything or anyone, but ironically enough he gets her to laugher harder than anyone of us can. I think she gets him;)

 

Me and her daddy are smitten. She is such a sweet, tender hearted baby. Her spirit that she has brought into our home is almost magical. We are one lucky family:)

 

End of Summer

Sad, Summer is over:( This is the first summer Seth had completely off, no part time job or summer school... which was perfect timing with a new baby:) We played all summer and really just enjoyed being a family. Like everyone else in utah county we enjoyed 7 peaks and we'll sadly miss our summer days there:(

Here's to a new school year for Seth and Mason starting PRESCHOOL next week! :)

FSA Conference

Every summer me and my girlfriends go to the National FSA conference and make a night out of it. This year it was a regional Conference and I was asked to be on the committee. Since I had to be there early for set up and registation the first day, we decided to make two nights of it:) There 8 of us in two hotel rooms and as always when we're all together we had a blast! They really are like a second family. We ate good food, got pedi's, shopped and oh attended the conference:) Sometimes I think we pretend to want to go to all these 'conferences' just so we can have girls nights.... okay I don't think that I know that, we all admit it:)

24th of July

Every year as FSA we are in the Spanish Fork 24th of July Parade! It usually very HOT (as it was this year:) but really fun for our kids and it something we love doing with our friends!

Afterwards we got to spend the rest of the holiday with our very good friends the Day Family who moved to Seattle 8 months ago:( It was SOOO good to see them and catch up!

Uinta Mountains

A McVea Family Tradition

Seth grew up camping in the Uinta Mtns at Moosehorn Lake every summer with his family. It's a tradition we have truly enjoyed carrying on with our own family. Its so fun to spend that time with family, I am so blessed to have the in-laws I do. Also every summer we take my beautiful sister's four kids for a week since she's a single mama and do something fun with them. This year we decided to blend these two 'traditions' and take the Taylor kids with us to the Uinta's. My in laws were amazing and welcomed our crowd of 2 adults and 7 kids into their camp:)  It was so much fun. The kids soaked in every activity and my boys soaked in every ounce of DIRT!  We fished, went canoeing, did a compass course, shot the bb gun, skipped rocks (for hours), roasted smores, had dutch oven dinners and yes I, Lacey McVea slept in a tent, willingly. I grew up doing it but since I've become an adult my fear of bears has literally killed any, and I mean ANY enjoyment of sleeping outdoors, esp with my children... oh and four more kids that aren't even mine. With a prayer... okay like 8 prayers, my 9 yr old niece laughing at me and about two hrs of sleep with got through it:) 

There's something about the mtns that literally free's you. I love it. I love the quality, uninterrupted time with my family and the joy I see in my children when they are outdoors:) 

... So for that I'll sleep in a tent (once a year!!!!)
